Transit Terminal – UofG

We provided design, tendering and construction administration services to the University of Guelph to reconfigure / reconstruct the main entrance loop at the University Centre – to convert the loop into a public transit only hub.

The terminal simultaneously handles 10 City of Guelph buses on the east side bays, c/w pedestrian access, shelters, and platforms.  There are 3 bays on the west side for Greyhound and GO buses.  These platforms are equipped with heated shelters for passengers.

The project included removal of the original roadway and parking lot, followed by construction of the loop roadway, street / platform lighting, retaining walls, accessible ramps, railings, platforms, and structural pads for the west shelters. During the school semesters, volume is currently 130,000 passenger trips weekly, with up to 950 buses daily during weekdays.
